HOPEGENE: Giving hope to this generation

Life Music is back with a short break as I was blessed to have my best friend Jessica walk down the aisle and say the Big I do. The Newlywed season is sweet. Marriage is truly a gift.

Now it’s back to business, and I had the privilege to sit down with Sister duo Sharla and Carla, who make up the band “Hopegene”.  The name is compounded by the words hope and generation. Thus, the mission of their music is self-evident. This is one Podcast episode is a must-watch.

One of the most poignant moments of the episode is when Sharla bravely shared her ordeal with miscarriage and how she had to hang on to the hope that they have in Jesus Christ. What was remarkable was how Sharla demonstrated unwavering faith despite her trials and tribulations.

Carla spoke regarding her work at A Step Fwd. The organisation champions Christian Music both in the UK and around the world. One of the initiatives is the UK Christian Charts, which champions and highlights great trending Christian Music regularly. Carla spoke about how she is pleasantly surprised by the vast talent of musicians in the country.

Among other topics, Shara spoke about how her ministry at her local church has inspired her with the music she writes with her sister.
